Wollert One Early Education is part of the One Early Education group, which runs a handful of centres across Melbourne's outer north and south-east, including Roxburgh Park, Cranbourne East and Officer. The Wollert centre operates from a purpose-built facility on Harvest Home Road, licensed for 135 places, and is open from 6:30am to 6:30pm on weekdays for children from six weeks to six years. Seven light-filled rooms are arranged by age, from an infant nursery through to a four to six-year-old kindergarten.

Learning follows the Early Years Learning Framework, layered with the group's own Brain Development Program, which the centre describes as a curriculum built to encourage curiosity, build confidence and foster a lifelong love of learning. Daily art, music, mindfulness and sport sessions run across the rooms, and a Storypark app keeps families updated on each child's day. The kindergarten room places a clear emphasis on a smooth transition to primary school for children in their pre-school year.

The building is designed around natural light, with a restaurant-style multipurpose room at its centre and nature-inspired outdoor play spaces that include a climbing fort, slide, sandpits, climbing walls and vegetable gardens. Fresh seasonal meals are prepared on site each day, and nappies, wipes, sunscreen and hats are included in the daily fee of $155.00, the lowest of the three ranked centres. Wollert One holds a Meeting NQS rating from March 2024 and carries the deepest set of parent reviews in the suburb.

What parents say

The best staff and centre in town!!!!! Always happy to help in any way regarding my two boys. Both my boys have attended this facility and I would recommend to anyone looking for an childcare facility with with friendly staff, great food from the kitchen and overall support. They even have a coffee van outfront as a lovely treat for the parents some days.

Carly Field via Google

My son started at One Early Learning Wollert in January, and has had such a wonderful experience, he is actually happy to go no longer crying at drop off as he did at the previous childcare! Special mention to Adreena that has made my son feel super welcome and he absolutely loves her. The centre is warm, welcoming, and very well organised, and it gives me peace of mind knowing my child is in such a safe and nurturing environment.

Milena Pepe

The BEST childcare facility in the Northern suburbs. I toured One Early Learning Wollert about 6 weeks ago, looking for care for my 19mo daughter and 3yo son. The management were so friendly and informative during the whole tour, and the Educators had all the children calm and engaged in every room I visited. My children have been so happy since sending them to One Wollert, I love seeing their growth at care and hearing about their days when I pick them up.

Alison Jesper
Our take

Wollert One is our top pick in Wollert largely on the weight and consistency of its parent feedback: it has by far the deepest review base in the suburb, built up over years of local operation. The fee is the lowest of the three at $155 a day, meals and nappies are included, and the seven-room, purpose-built site gives each age group its own space. It is a group-operated centre rather than a boutique one, so families who want the resources and structure of a larger operator with a local track record will feel at home here.

Best for: Families who want the resources and structure of an established group operator, with the deepest, most consistent parent-review record in Wollert and the suburb's lowest daily fee.

AMIGA Montessori Wollert is one of several AMIGA Montessori centres across Victoria and South Australia, and is described by the operator as a recent addition to the group. It runs from a purpose-built centre on Edgars Road, licensed for 100 places, and is open on weekdays from 7:00am to 6:00pm for children from six weeks to six years. In keeping with the Montessori model, the centre groups children into a Toddler community for the youngest children and a mixed-age Cycle One room for three to six-year-olds.

What sets the centre apart is its Montessori pedagogy. The operator describes a structured, well-defined Montessori approach delivered in a purpose-built, state-of-the-art environment, alongside a free government-funded three and four-year-old kindergarten program. The weekly schedule adds sustainability, yoga, music, dance, sport and a rotation of incursions and excursions. The mixed three to six-year-old grouping is a hallmark of Montessori practice, giving older children a chance to model for younger ones and younger children the chance to learn by watching.

Fresh, nutritious meals are prepared daily and nappies are included in the fee. At $159.72 a day, AMIGA sits at the upper end of the three ranked centres on price, which reflects the specialist method and the funded kindergarten built into the program. The centre holds a Meeting NQS rating from July 2024, a recent assessment, and carries a solid base of parent reviews on Google. Families weighing AMIGA against the other two are mostly choosing on teaching method rather than facilities or fee.

What parents say

I have had a great experience with AMIGA Montessori. The staff are excellent at the centre and have excellent experience. My daughter started going there recently, and to my surprise she has settled so nicely. The educators made sure she was comfortable and did not feel lonely. The educators update on a regular basis as to how the child is doing overall e.g. food, sleep, etc. I would definitely recommend new parents who are looking for a good centre to visit AMIGA Montessori Wollert.

Priti Shukla

The educators Seema, Sunny are incredibly supportive and create a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels valued. She was initially quite hesitant but staff supported us very well, quite flexible during her adaptation to the new environment. The activities are engaging and well planned, and communication with parents is always clear and helpful. We truly appreciate the care and dedication of the entire team.

Amala George

I've been so impressed with this childcare. The educators are warm, patient, and genuinely passionate about the kids' wellbeing. The centre feels welcoming the moment you walk in — clean spaces, engaging activities, and a real sense of community.

Sukhman Dhanju
Our take

AMIGA is the option for Wollert families who specifically want a Montessori program. Its mixed-age rooms and self-directed, Montessori-structured learning are a genuine departure from the play-based curricula at the other two centres, and the funded three and four-year-old kindergarten is built in. The July 2024 assessment is recent, the review base is solid if not the deepest in the suburb, and the $159.72 daily fee is the highest of the three, which buys the specialist method. If Montessori is what you are after, this is the clear choice; if you are indifferent to method, the other two may suit better on fee and review depth.

Best for: Families who specifically want a Montessori program, with mixed-age rooms and self-directed learning, plus funded three and four-year-old kindergarten built in.

Wallaby Childcare Wollert is part of a family-owned and operated group whose parent company was established in 2005 and which now runs seven centres across Melbourne's north and west, including Epping, Greensborough, Harpley and Donnybrook. The Wollert centre sits in the Edgars Creek area of the Aurora estate, licensed for 140 places, the largest of the three ranked centres. It is open from 6:30am to 6:30pm on weekdays for children from six weeks to five years, across a nursery, toddler, pre-kinder and kindergarten room.

The program is grounded in the Early Years Learning Framework and the Victorian framework, with what the centre describes as a partial Reggio Emilia influence and a focus on child-directed indoor and outdoor play. The purpose-built site is arranged around a central Big Red Barn hub, with seven rooms, individual climate control, a commercial kitchen and an outdoor classroom that includes vegetable and flower beds. An in-house qualified chef prepares fresh, multicultural menus, and nappies are included in the daily fee.

Wallaby was reassessed in May 2026 and rated Meeting National Quality Standard across all seven quality areas. This was a step down from the Exceeding rating it held from November 2022, a change worth noting, since the earlier Exceeding result was issued under an assessment that has since been superseded. At $157.60 a day it sits in the middle of the three on price, and while its parent reviews are strongly positive, with a 5.0 Google average, the number of reviews is smaller than at the other two centres. Wallaby is the most recently assessed and the largest of the three.

What parents say

We love Wallaby Wollert. All of the educators and staff and incredible supportive, communicative and put our needs at the forefront. Our child is challenged, cared for and supported to meet learning and social needs and everything is communicated home in a timely way. We couldn't be happier with the service that we are getting here and have recommended to many of our friends in the area.

Bria Runnalls via Google

I have a positive experience in Wallaby Wollert since day 1 I stepped into the centre. I was greeted by a very friendly front desk officer and most of the staff smiled at me during the tour. The centre itself is very clean, well presented and has the 'home-like' feel which creates a relaxed environment. The educators in the nursery room are so caring and they provided great assistance during initial days when my daughter needed it the most.

Shara Neeya

Our son loves being at Wallaby, wollert. It is outstanding. The facility is clean and engaging, the staff is caring and attentive, and the curriculum balances learning with creative play. Excellent communication and top-notch safety ensure peace of mind. Our son thrive here, and we highly recommend Wallaby Childcare for exceptional early education and care.

Mehak Phuja
Our take

Wallaby rounds out the top three on the strength of its facilities and its recent assessment. It is the largest centre in Wollert at 140 places, with a purpose-built site, an in-house chef and a strong physical environment in the Aurora estate. Its parent reviews are excellent but thin, a 5.0 Google average on a small number of reviews, which is why it sits at third rather than higher. The May 2026 reassessment confirmed Meeting across all seven quality areas, a step down from the Exceeding it held in 2022, so families touring should ask what has changed since the earlier rating. For a big, well-equipped centre with capacity, it is a strong option.

Best for: Families who want the largest, best-equipped centre in the suburb, with an in-house chef and room for 140 children, and who value a recent assessment over review volume.

About childcare in Wollert

On Melbourne's northern edge in the City of Whittlesea, about 28 kilometres from the CBD, Wollert is one of the state's youngest suburbs by age profile. The 2021 Census counted 2,867 children under five here, the second-highest of any Victorian suburb, and the Aurora and Edgars Creek estates that drove that figure are still being built out. For local parents the practical upshot is plain: a lot of families are chasing early learning places at the same time.

Because the suburb skews so heavily toward young families, popular rooms (nursery and toddler places especially) book out well ahead, and parents tend to compare centres on their National Quality Standard rating, daily fee and what that fee includes. Several Wollert centres opened only in the last few years, so a current assessment date and a deep, recent set of parent reviews carry more weight here than a long-standing local name. A settled, low-turnover educator team and funded kindergarten in the year or two before school are common priorities.

This guide looked at every long day care centre in Wollert 3750 and ranked them on five things: the Starting Blocks NQS result and its date, the verified daily fee, any conditions on the service approval, the spread of parent reviews from Google, and program quality. Three independently run centres came out on top: Wollert One Early Education for the depth of its parent feedback, AMIGA Montessori for its distinct teaching method, and Wallaby Childcare for its facilities and recent reassessment. Fees and vacancies move around, so check both with the centre directly.

Wollert childcare: what you need to know

Wollert sits in the City of Whittlesea on Melbourne's northern growth front, in the Aurora and Edgars Creek estates. Its postcode, 3750, has seven long day care centres, and daily fees average about $158 before any subsidy. The suburb's population skews young, so nursery and kindergarten demand runs high.

Child Care Subsidy (CCS)

Each of the three ranked centres can claim the Child Care Subsidy on your behalf. The subsidy is income-tested and also depends on your fortnightly activity hours and your child's care type; for most families it covers a share of the daily fee, up to a maximum of 90 per cent.

Free Kinder

Funded kindergarten is available to eligible Victorian children in the two years before school, and is often delivered inside long day care. AMIGA Montessori Wollert advertises a free, government-funded kindergarten program; Wollert One and Wallaby both run kindergarten rooms, but we could not confirm their funded-kinder status from public sources, so check this with them directly.

Waitlists

With Wollert's heavy share of young families, the nursery and toddler rooms are usually the first to fill. If your start date is a few months out, ask each centre about its waitlist when you tour.
