All 7 quality areas: Meeting
Regulatory detail and operational conditions
Meeting NQS issued August 2025, across all seven quality areas — no service here has been assessed more recently. The previous assessment also returned Meeting, so this is a held position rather than a move in either direction.
Regulatory visit April 2026: Last visited by the regulatory authority in April 2026, the most recent visit of the three by a year or more. No enforcement actions recorded in the past two years. One condition on service approval — the Bushfire At-Risk Register listing, explained below.
Little Assets runs from Gordons Road with 120 approved places, the largest service ranked on this page, open 6:30am to 6:30pm and taking children from six weeks. Rooms are split across infant, toddler, pre-kinder and kinder groups, with funded three and four-year-old kindergarten delivered inside long day care hours, a bush kinder program, and speech and occupational therapists attending on site. Its service approval dates from October 2019.
The August 2025 assessment returned Meeting in all seven quality areas, repeating the Meeting result before it, and an April 2026 regulatory visit — the most recent of any centre here — recorded no enforcement actions across the preceding two years.
Its approval carries one condition, arising from its place on the Department of Education's Bushfire At-Risk Register. The service must not operate on a day the Victorian Emergency Management Commissioner declares Catastrophic for its district; it must hold a bushfire Emergency Management Plan inside the emergency procedures required by regulation 168; and that plan must be reviewed annually and cover fire monitoring, emergency contacts and the handling of planned, unplanned and pre-emptive closures. The condition attaches to the location and applies identically to every listed service. It is not a finding about this centre — but it does mean losing occasional days at short notice through summer.
One practical gap worth knowing. The national register publishes a contact number for this service that is a digit short of a complete Victorian landline, on both Starting Blocks and ACECQA. Rather than guess at the missing digit we have left the phone field empty; the centre can be reached by email at southmorang@littleassets.com.au, or through the group's website.
What parents say
With every centre in the suburb sitting at Meeting and none above the standard anywhere, first place goes to the one assessed most recently and covering the most, and Little Assets is both. Its August 2025 rating is the newest in South Morang and its April 2026 regulatory visit is more than a year ahead of either centre below, so what the regulator says here describes the service closer to today than anything else on the page. Its nine inclusions are the fullest list in the locality and the only one containing transport, which is the item families most often discover is extra. At $177.00 it is $20.00 above the cheapest centre ranked, and if you price the three additional items honestly — other meals, excursions and the bus — that gap narrows considerably rather than disappearing. Two things to weigh against it. The bushfire listing will cost you days you cannot predict, and if you have no fallback care that is a genuine problem rather than an inconvenience. And the register cannot give you a working phone number, which is a poor start for a first enquiry.
Best for: Households who would rather one rate covered everything, including the excursion bus, and who can plan around a handful of summer closure days.
